TAIPEI, Taiwan, January 10, 2013 ?? Aurora Corp. (Ticker: 2373 TT / 2373 TW) today reported consolidated net sales for December 2012 of NT$922 million, up 5% from November and down 27% from the same month last year. The result had no contribution from Aurora Telecom, which Aurora owned but sold a majority stake to Tsann Kuen, one of Taiwan??s largest IT and consumer electronics retail chain, in October. For the full year 2012, Aurora reported consolidated net sales of NT$12.56 billion, representing a 3% decrease from the prior year.
On a pro-forma basis, excluding the revenue from Aurora Telecom, revenue declined modestly by 4% from last December. For the full year 2012, revenue rose 1 percent from last year.
Parent-only net sales in December of NT$236 million was nearly flat compared with November but decreased 11% from the same month last year. For the full year 2012, parent-only sales of NT$2.76 billion was down 4% compared with the prior year.
In China, buoyed by the traditional year-end demand, net revenue in December increased 6% to 135 million RMB from November to represent 67% of company??s total revenue. The office automation and office furniture sales both hit a new peak of 48 million RMB and 73 million RMB, respectively, with the latter setting the fourth consecutive monthly record. By business segment, office automation and office furniture reported growth of 20% and 11% from last month, while office equipment saw sales fall 32%. The growth as a whole was flat compared to a year ago.
For the full year 2012, China revenue decreased 2% to 1.37 billion RMB from the prior year to represent 50% of company??s total revenue. By business segment, the office automation, office furniture and equipment revenue registered year-over-year changes of 0%, 9% and -26%, separately.
